Acts 17:24-25 - God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
When we talk about God's attributes, we discover that all the attributes flow together in unity and that whatever attributes God has, He is 100% of that attribute.
Because God is omnipresent, He is 100% everywhere. God is love, so God is 100% love at all times. So, when we talk about the Impassibility of God, we are saying that God does have feelings and emotions, but His feelings are unchanging.
"For I am the Lord, I do not change" – Malachi 3:6
When we look at humanity, one moment, he can love righteousness and be grieved by sin, and at other times, man enjoys sin and hates righteousness.
But with God, there will never be a time when God enjoys sin and is grieved by righteousness; God will always be grieved by sin and will always be pleased with righteousness. So, God's emotions are perfectly consistent with His nature.
The root meaning of "Impassability" means that God cannot undergo passion or suffering; nothing in the created universe can make God feel pain or inflict misery on Him.
So, what does this mean for us? Through all of life's challenges and suffering, God will not be moved by all the world's sins. He always loves us; He will always want to restore us; He wants to guide and direct our lives.
Because He is always in love with us, He will never tempt us with evil but will always restore and protect us. And through suffering, He will always comfort us and bring us hope. He is God; He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Psalms 103:8 - The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
