LOLLY’S LOVE OUTREACH

Isaiah 41:17 - “The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst. I, the Lord, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.

The Whittier Daily News headline read “Missing 71-year old La Habra woman sought”. Who was this woman being sought? My mother, Lolly Ynzunza. No one knew she had gone for a walk that afternoon with her dog “Rusty”.

We searched the neighborhood just in case she was close by, but to no avail. “911” was called, friends and family also searched for my mom. The sun had long been set and the night hours turned to early mornings, hundreds of fliers had been posted or passed out. Still no sign of my mom. Well after 2 days, we praise God, she was found!

One friend reported that while he was passing out fliers, he handed a flier to a homeless man and asked if he would keep an eye out for her, he replied as he pulled out his own flier, “We are all watching out for her.”

Remembering back my mom would see a homeless or elderly person walking down the street and always say “Oh, pobrecito (Spanish for poor thing) God bless you”. You see my mom was a nurse and she had a huge heart and love for the downcast and brokenhearted.

“WHY WE STARTED LOLLY’S LOVE OUTREACH”

So now as outreach for the homeless they don’t come to us, we find them, take them a care package, a lunch, a bible (if they would like one), and we give a lot of love, my mom’s love, God’s love. So off to the streets we go and have the love of Lolly, who had the love of God.

Proverbs 31:20 - She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.
